Holiday Gift Giving

Each year FoAEA provides information on holiday gift giving that helps support our community and raises money for the school. Last year the AEA community helped raised $3,000 while purchasing holiday gifts for your family and friends. This year, with the growth in the schools and the better visibility of this program, we'd like to see how much better we can do.

Holiday Shopping Through Amazon

The amazon.com affiliate program has become one of our most successful fundraisers over the last few years in part because it doesn't cost anything beyond what you were going to purchase anyway. This school year participation has been fantastic.

How does the program work? Simple! The only thing special you need to know is our link.

As you are planning your holiday gift giving, please remember to use our link (foaea.org/amazon) and tell anybody you can about it including grandparents, uncles and aunts, friends of the family, etc. Gift giving can have even more meaning when it is also raising money for schools. There's no limit to who can use it, how many times, or how much money we can raise through this program!

Progress Fundraiser for the Fusion PE Program

PROGRESS in South Park is having their annual AEA Fusion fundraising event with 15% of proceeds benefitting our students on Wednesday, December 2nd from 10am - 7pm. PROGRESS has something for everyone this holiday season... furniture, candles, toys, home goods, ornaments, books, games, jewelry and gifts. Keep the cheer here this holiday season and consider shopping local and raising funds for physical education! PROGRESS is located at 2225 30th St., just blocks away from AEA Elementary. If you don't know about the AEA Fusion program please check it out here.

Artsonia is great for Holiday Gifts!

Go to Artsonia and check out your child's artwork. If you buy before December 15th it will deliver by Christmas and the school gets 20% of your purchases back as a donation.

Book Reading at AEACS by Famous German Author Cornelia Funke

AEA was able to host the famous German author Cornelia Funke on Friday on our elementary campus for a book reading to several of our elementary and middle school students who showed their interest by writing a brief German book report of their most liked Funke book. Frau Funke has written many bestsellers that were translated into English including The Thief Lord, Inkheart, Inkspell, and Dragon Rider, the Ghosthunter series, and several popular picture books.

Her reading at Einstein was out of her bestselling book Drachenreiter- Dragon Rider (Deutsch and English). After the reading children had the chance to ask the author questions and get a book signed. There was also a raffle with Frau Funke's books, signed of course.

This wonderful event, organized by our German language representative Mrs. Ibold and our German department, was made possible by the German Consulate General in Los Angeles and the German Department of School Abroad (ZfA) who has supported German education at AEA for many years through direct financial support and by bringing German events to AEA.

Support essential enrichment programs at AEA

Please help support essential programs at AEA through a donation to Friends of Albert Einstein Academies. Our goal is to have 200 families participate in this donation drive. Donating to FoAEA supports the enrichment programs that our kids benefit from including art, music, PE and science programs and provides funds for field trips, assemblies, and classroom supplies.

If you haven't signed up yet, please take 5 minutes to contribute to AEA's enrichment programs. Go to our donation website from your mobile device or computer and select a monthly donation amount or a one time donation. Choose $30/month ($1/day) or any amount affordable to you. Even $5 or $10 per month makes a huge difference for the kids.

Matching Grants

Last year, the following companies made matching grants to FoAEA: Union Bank, Qualcomm, Pfizer, Intuit, Genentech, Covidien, Nokia, and ARS National Svcs.

We thank all of these companies for their generous support. If you work for any of these companies and have not yet taken advantage of their matching grant program, it just takes a few minutes and is free money to the school. One way of finding out if your employeer supports matching grants is to look at this list of companies. Information normally needed to have an employeer make a matching grant is available here.
