The German music program will be offered to children in the immersion classes from Kindergarten all the way to 5th Grade during the German instruction weeks. Because the brain learns much easier through melodies and rhythmic structures, it is intended to enhance and reinforce the German language immersion. Further, elements of the German culture will be taught helping the children appreciate the heritage of the language to which they are being introduced.

Why a German Music Program?

It has been generally observed that children learn language, and particular foreign languages, more quickly through music and rhythm in an environment that provides playful and stimulating interactions. The positive aspects of music, songs, and rhythm are conducive when the interaction involves the children in a non-threatening and seemingly non-challenging atmosphere.

The goal of the program is to create a learning environment in which the mind is susceptible to retaining information for long periods based on musical melody. By stimulating the mind and the soul the students are in a more advantageous situation in enhancing and enriching their learning in the most effective way.
